She’s supposed to be dead, I thought, but these All-Caste people seem to be able to communicate/exist as spirits. It opens on Essence, in the Thousand acres of All, going to see Ducra, or maybe her ghost. We probably should have though, since this whole comic is just throwing out everything people liked about Rebirth RHATO (Biz and Artemis) and bringing in everything from the New 52 run except what people liked about it, (namely Roy and Starfire being Jason’s besties). We knew Essence and the All-caste were coming back, from the solicitations/previews, but I don’t think anyone saw the second blonde love interest’s appearance coming. Jason Todd Red Hood All-Caste Essence Ducra The mystery of the white streak revealled this is canon for the Crushing AU It explains why it appears and disappears like the other explanations don't meta headcanon imagine Everyone Crushing on Jason AU One of the reasons he doesn’t actually use said techniques as much is because he’s self-conscious and doesn’t want to have white hair in his twenties. Presumably in the Everyone Crushing on Jason AU he’s been using his Soul-Magic techniques a lot more lately so he’s getting a streak again. When he stopped using All-Caste techniques during Under the Hood, it went away again so he hasn’t really had it since. Jason during the Hush arc when he had the white streak, he’d just come off defeating the Devourer of Young Souls in the Thousand Acres of All and using a lot of his Soul-energy or whatever you call it, so he had a big streak in his hair. Why do all the All-Caste seem to have white hair like Ducra and Essence and the one-off assassin guy? Because they are using the All-Caste techniques constantly, so their hair is pure white. My explanation for the white streak is that it’s a reaction to using the soul-magic of the All-Caste. Those are the most common ones, yes, but mine is very different.
